What is Langle?
Langle is a free daily word game for language lovers: every day at midnight UTC a new mystery language appears, and your job is to identify it in six guesses. Hints grow from a single word to a phrase, a full sentence, native-speaker audio, and finally facts about where it's spoken.
Every guess teaches you something: feedback tiles compare your guess with the answer across language family, geography, writing system, and number of speakers, so even a wrong guess about one of the 86 possible languages narrows things down. Sign in to earn learning points, keep a streak, and play extra practice rounds.
Frequently asked questions
Read the hint, pick a language from the list, and submit your guess. Wrong guesses unlock bigger hints (a phrase, a sentence, audio, and speaker facts), and colored tiles show how close each guess was. You have six tries.
Langle is completely free, and you can play today's puzzle without an account. Signing in (also free) saves your stats, earns you learning points, builds your streak, ranks you on the daily leaderboard, and unlocks five extra practice rounds a day.
A new puzzle goes live every day at midnight UTC. It's the same puzzle for every player worldwide, so the results you see always compare you with everyone playing today.
The answer pool covers 86 languages from every major language family, from Spanish, Korean, and Arabic to Icelandic, Swahili, Basque, and Mongolian. Every puzzle includes real text written by native conventions plus audio.
